Cube in a Bottle

A Seemingly Impossible Project during a Seemingly Impossible Time

This project came from the boredom that resulted from the Pandemic and I wanted to create something that seemed just as impossible as the world that we were living in. So, I assembled a Rubik’s Cube in a bottle with a neck so small, that even the cubes that make up the whole puzzle had to be assembled within the bottle. This was a true test of patience, craftsmanship and wit to create something so seemingly impossible.

One cube of the cube doesn’t fit through the neck by itself. How can it be assembled?

Each individual cube splits into multiple pieces, which fit in the neck. Thus, it’s barely possible.

With the aid of paper towels, I could stabilize the pieces in the bottle as I worked on the cube. A combination of prodding tools, tweezers and tape were used to assemble the cube within the bottle.

Using painter’s tape, I could bandage the cube in a certain way so that I could work the cube easier.

It just doesn’t fit in the neck!
